So, what to say... Let's start with the easy stuff. My name is Christine. Most days, you'll find me at home in Alberta... if I'm not travelling for work or for pleasure. I'm an Edmontonian at heart who is learning to love Calgary. If there is one thing that can make you feel at home no matter where you are, it is food! I try to support our local farmers and producers through that - many of which are readily accessible in both Edmonton and Calgary.
This blog started a few years ago as a funny little newsletter circulated to some friends and family members. I've always enjoyed cooking -from early days at home to high school cooking class to entertaining in my own home- and always enjoyed sharing that food with the people that I care about. I found myself avoiding the tedious formatting of my newsletter and opted to take it all online. At the end of the day, the result is the same and I guess that highlights the impetus behind this blog... sharing food.
My family would always joke that my grandmother had the "need to feed" and my mother had the same drive. I definitely have it. That said, I'm not a professional... far from it. I'm just someone who enjoys her home and her kitchen. I look forward to the weekly farmer's markets. I love the kitchen sections of stores. I buy foodie souvenirs when I travel. And have as many photos of great meals, as I do of the great people in my life.
I hope that you enjoy the recipes and thoughts that I share here. Nearly every recipe is my own or you'll find the reference in the post. The photos are my own as well.
I'd love your feedback too... please.
Happy eating!
